It's been a loooong time!!

Hi Guys,

I know, I know, its been literally like 4 months since I have updated this thing, but to be honest, I didn't really think I had much to say lol.

But I did want to give you guys a little up date about whats going on, on our side of the fence.

Adam is working in his office at the moment. He has to take these things called CDC's. And for those of you who are in the Air Force or Military know what those are lol. But for those of you who aren't, CDC's are tests that, in our case, Airmen have to take in order for him to be able to work in his specified job. Adam is in Knowledge Operations. Which means he pretty much works with top secret documents and what not. Anyway, he hates this LOL. He wants to be up and about, and he is required to just sit in an office and study all day. And if you know Adam, this is a NO GO for him. So he is having a hard time. But hopefully they tests will go by quickly and he will move on to bigger and better things.

We have 2 new additions to our household, we got more dogs. Jasmine, who is a boxer and Harley, she is some sort of shepard mix. We had intended on only getting one dog when we went to the shelter, but ended up walking out with 2. Gotta love us Grahams. Their faces were so sad, we couldn't take just one.

We do live in a house now, on base. We love this house. It's just big enough for us, and has lots of room for our stuff. We are looking into getting a newer house here on base. But who knows when that will be!

Both Adam and I are going to go back to school in the next few months. Probably after the new year. And we are both VERY excited about that!

Oh and we bought a new car!

I think that's it for now!

I hope everyone is doing well!

The (waaaaay too long awaited) Airman Graham Update :o)

Well, since I have been so swamped with stuff for pretty much the last month, I finally made myself sit down and update this thing! lol I'm sorry for taking so long.

Alright, here we go.

Okay, so as I'm sure you all know, Adam graduated from BMT on April 9th....with honors!!! Like I said in a previous post that he was Academic Adviser for his flight 260, and they got the Academic Streamer, which is pretty huge for Adam, considering he was Academic Adviser :) His flight also got PT (Physical Training) Streamer and BEAST Excellence! This was pretty awesome for his flight, because its the most streamers his TI has ever had. So that's awesome for all the boys!

Adam's graduation weekend was....needless to say....amazing. We arrived to San Antonio on Wednesday, April 8th, got settled into our campsite and explored the area. Ugh!!! Texas is so incredibly confusing! LOL I was having a hard time with remembering where we were, so I was freaked! But, the fam and I were able to find the base and my hotel, which was a huge burden because we wanted to know where everything was for the next morning. On Thursday, the 8th, we all got up at 4am, Texas time, so ugh, LOL, 2am AZ time. And we were all quite cranky, but extremely excited to FINALLY see Adam. We had a briefing at 7am, and they pretty much told 3000 of us the proper etiquette for our stay there at Lackland AFB. No biggie. Then we had to wait an hour to see Adam run in the Airmen's Run. The fam and I found our spot on the side of the road and anxiously waited for Adam to run by with his flight!!! At around 9:10am, we could see all the flights coming around the corner, running toward us. WE FREAKED!!! lol Adam's sister, Sarah, and I made signs for him, so he knew to look for us. All the flights ran by and we didn't see Adam, but thankfully they got to run by a second time and we got to see him!! He had a huge smile on his face. I screamed and cried lol. It was amazing to actually get to see him, if even for a few seconds. So after that, we had to wait 2 more hours till the coin ceremony. We found our seats and waited...again. Hurry up to wait right?! But at 11am, the ceremony started and all the flights were promoted to Airmen and we were able to go get our boy! I have never moved so fast in my entire life!! He didn't even see me coming lol. He was surprised! So after hugs and kisses, we had to book it to the Honor Ceremony. There, Adam got, yet another coin, and its beautiful! That was great accomplishment for him, and I was/am so proud. At around 1pm, we decided to go find some lunch because we were all starving! Everything was super crowded so we decided to go to good ol' Burger King. And oh man, I have never seen Adam eat so much in my life!! He ate all of his food, about 3/4's of my burger and all of my fries, PLUS a half of a pie and my homemade cookies, LOL and he still wasn't full. Then we went bowling, and had a blast!! And for some stinking reason, I can't remember what else we did that day lol. But at around 7pm, Adam had to go back to his dorm. The next day, Friday, the 9th, Adam officially graduated!!! The ceremony was at 9am. Adam was in the flag flight, and held the Idaho flag during the ceremony. To be honest, the ceremony took forever lol. There was a bunch of people, like TI's getting promoted or something, but it was cool! Adam swore in, I cried, and we got to go get him again and take him off base for Base Liberty. Adam had to go sign himself out back at his dorm, but was told that he had to pack all of his stuff and get it ready to leave for Monday, I dunno why, but whatever lol. So dad and I went and got the rental car and came back. Adam needed to get his stripes put on all of his uniforms so, he and I sat at the Stripes store for 2 and a half hours waiting to get them put on. LOL oh goodness, more waiting!!!! Then we went and had dinner with his family, chicken wraps, one of Adam's faves. And by that time, it was time for him to go back to the dorms. On Saturday, the 10th, I picked Adam up and drove around looking for a Cracker Barrel lol, one of our favorite breakfast places. I don't know how, but I somehow found one, and we ate. Adam ate....get this...4 plates worth of food!!! LOL BMT deprived him of food! Later that night, we went and had dinner with his fam and went to the hockey game, Rampage won!!! After that, we had to take him back to the dorm. Boo! And finally on Sunday, we visited all day, and had to take him back at 3pm. It was a sad day.

But Adam has not changed one bit. He is still the same silly, funny, outgoing Adam that all of us know and love. He does look different tho. He has lost quite a bit of weight and has like no hair! lol. But he seems more grounded in the man that he wants to be.

Well, now its May 2nd, and he has been in Mississippi for 3 weeks. He started classes on Monday the 26 of April. He only has one more week of that class then he goes to his second block of classes that will be 6 weeks long. We are ready to have him come home. The nicest thing about Technical School is that we get to talk to him. So everyday, when school is out, he is able to call me. He has more freedom, on weekends he can do what ever he wants.

So now, we are just waiting for him to get all of his classes done and come home! Which is going to hopefully be sometime in June. I will try and to keep you posted :) I'll write more when I have more exciting news LOL

Here are some pictures from our weekend with Adam:

In a meadow that he found...he was in love!

Us on the first day I got to see him!

Airman Graham Update 4 :)

Hi everyone, well its 12:45 here on a Saturday and I got a call from Adam about an hour ago, while I was watching New Moon :)

He said he is doing fine, but anxious about BEAST week, which is Week 6, it starts tomorrow. BEAST Week, or Warrior Week, is when Adam's flight and 7 other flights go into actual combat situations. They get tested on all the skills that they have acquired over the past 6-ish weeks. So its basically simulated combat, they do all sorts of things, they live in tents, use their M-16's. From what Adam has told me, none of his TI's are with them, yes, they watch them in a tower, but this whole week is on them, the recruits. So I guess, all of the workers on Lackland act as "bad guys," where they are either terrorists or bombers, and the boys have to figure out how to combat against them, which sounds pretty cool in a way lol. Adam is excited to eat MRE's which are Meals, Ready to Eat, you pretty much just add water and it somehow heats up and makes food. He says the ones he has tasted are pretty good....lol silly boy. Anyway, I guess it's going to be a crazy week, but Adam just wants to get it over with.

Well, I FINALLY got my base ID this Thursday and I'm so happy! And I got signed up for TRIcare, which is medical insurance, and thank goodness that is done.

Earlier this week, I received a call from Adam saying that everyone on our "graduation list" got denied access to base for graduation. We were all devastated. Adam told us to call Security Forces and they will tell us why we got denied, mind you, I didn't have my base ID at the time so we were all freaking out. Anyway, we finally get a hold of someone at Security Forces and this guy was a TOTAL jerk, and refused to help us. He said the only thing we can hope to do is go to the visitors center when we arrived in San Antonio and hope to get a visitors pass. So my mom in law called the visitors center and they said that since we were denied, there is no way for us to get on base. So after all of this happened, Adam's mom, Cindy, was able to get a hold of the supervisor of that Security Forces jerk, thanks to her retired AF guy at work, and the supervisor found our paperwork and said that we filled it out wrong and that is why we got denied. UGH!!! Thankfully, Adam overnighted my Social Security Card and I received it on Thursday and Sandra and I booked it to the base to get my ID. I asked they guy there helping me, and he said that as long as I have my ID and I am driving the car I can get my family on base with no problem. So that is all worked out! but Whew, its been a crazy week!!!

Adam said they did the gas chamber in Week 4, which was the week before last and said it was hard but he got through it. He said he was happy he did it, but NEVER wants to do it again lol. And I guess they did the obstacle course too that week and he said it was crazy and very physical but he finished and was proud of himself.

So now they are finishing up Week 5 today, and he said it was mostly classroom work, which is hard because its very easy to want to sleep lol. He said he doesn't get much sleep because he is and EC (Entry Control) and has to watch over the dorms for 2 hours a night while everyone else sleeps, but he says he plans on sleeping as much as he can when he gets home. :)

So that's that! I'll give you guys and update when I have one. Week 6 starts tomorrow and I doubt I will get much mail lol, but Adam did say that he will write during his down time, if he can! so lets hope!

Have a good week everyone, and stay safe!

Airman Graham Updade 3-ish....lol

Hi everyone, I know its been a long time since I have posted, I have just had so much going on.

I have got a few letters in the mail in the past couple of weeks, so here is a little update.

Well last week was the official Week 3, also called "hell week" and man, they mean that literally. The entire had a hard week. Everyone got in trouble. Adam says that randomly throughout the 8 and a half weeks, during "chow time" they get called to the "snake pit. " The snake pit is where all the TI's sit when everyone eats. Anyway, Adam got called to the snake pit and had to answer questions, but he forgot to say his reporting statement (Sir/Maam, Trainee Graham, reports as ordered) so he got in big trouble. But it turned out that almost all the guys forgot to say the reporting statement, so they lost their phone calls for the week. :( So last Sunday, no call. But it happens, and we all are able to get through it. Adam did have his dorm inspections and PASSED! but he got in trouble for not putting his socks in the laundry bag and got a 341 pulled ( a 341 is a detention slip basically, and its inputted into the AF database) so Adam says if anyone wants to know his character as an Airman, they will see that he tends to forget about his socks. LOL that made me laugh.

I guess there is a lot of class time this week, and he says that the hardest thing is staying awake. Because he is an EC (which is where he has to watch over his flight for 2 hours while everyone sleeps) and he is an Academic advisor, or something to that effect lol, and he has to help all the other guys study. So needless to say, he doesn't get much sleep.

Also this week, he had to do "details" which is when they have to go somewhere and do grunt work. He was supposedly lucky to get the warehouse, but it turned out to be a horrible, they got in trouble the whole time and he said he never wants to do that again. Poor guys.

AND, I guess some guys from his flight was being stupid and were being loud so they lost their phone calls for this week too. So lame!

Oh and I guess a woman TI came up to him one day while he was standing in the line to get lunch and asks if he shaved, and he did, so he said yes, and then she said that he was calling her a liar, so he had to go and shave AGAIN! lol so I guess now he shaves twice a day. He says he tries his hardest to not get in trouble, but he keeps getting yelled at for small silly things. :( lol

Another thing we found out during Week 3 is that we won't know what his official job is till Week 8, which sucks, but we can't do anything about it. So lets just hope for the best!

I guess that Adam is kind of known as the positive guy in the Flight. He says at night he goes and shakes hands with most of the guys and tells them goodnight, and calls everyone buddy. He also says that he constantly tries to encourage everyone, and they all really appreciate it. LOL yep that sounds like my hubby!

Adam said that Texas is actually really pretty but BMT has ruined it for him, so he is anxious and happy about going to Mississippi for Tech School. But on the plus side, my best friend's boyfriend (soon-to-be husband :) ) Steven is going there also, so he is happy he has a friend going with him.

OH and a good bit of news!!! Adam was able to go to processing last Friday and was able to get all of our information sorted out, so thats great news!!! I'll finally be able to have insurance and get my base ID. But as the moto goes, Im sure we hurried up, just to sit and wait. So I'm not stressing it.

Well, its Friday of the official Week 4 now, and he said that Week 4 was supposed to be pretty easy, and nothing like Week 3, so he is excited. After this week, on Sunday, he will enter Week 5 and only 3 weeks to go till graduation!!! We are both soooo ready!!!

He says he misses everyone, he said to tell everyone hi and that he will be home soon! Please keep praying for him.

Airman Graham 2 :)

Okay, So yesterday, Friday, I finally recieved my first letter from Adam!!!! I was soooo happy to get it in the mail, LOL I cried. He wrote it on Monday, February 22, 2010. Well, the first thing was that it said "Letter #2" and there was no sign of "Letter #1" so I don't know if it got lost or something. But my friend Shawna, her fiance is in the Air Force with Adam (same flight too) and she said that she only recived "Letter #2" also, so who knows.

Anyway, Adam says he is doing okay, ready to be done with this phase in our lives and move on. But he is working his way through. He said that he was able to go and finally pick a job! Well, there are 3 jobs that he can choose from: Personal, Knowledge Information Management, and something like Aviatics Database. He said that his first choice was Personal, because it's the easiest and has hardly any deployments. But the thing is, is that there are 4 other guys going for those 3 jobs. But Adam is the only one out of the 4 that has a college degree, so he is hoping he will have the upper hand. God is in control, so we are praying for the best. Adam also told me that all of the tech schools for those jobs are in Mississippi, which means that as soon as Graduation is over, he will be heading to MI. But the plus side is that tech school should only be 5 weeks, so he should be home sometime in May, then we will go to our first assignment! Can't wait!!

He told me again that he is worried about dorm inspections. But we all know when Adam puts his mind to something, he gets it done. So I'm not worried. :) LOL he also said that Basic is just "simulated stress" and its not real, he says "I'm worried about socks for crying out loud!" That made me laugh.

Adam said to tell everyone that he thinks about you guys often, and to please write him letters. And thank you to all the ones that have already.

......SOOOOOOO, this afternoon, I decided to go to my mom's house and get stuff done, and I decided to get onto my bank account just to make sure everything is okay, AND!!!!! Adam's pay is in the account!!! Yes!! So, I guess Adam got it all worked out and everything is A-okay now. Now all we have to do is get this whole Certified Marriage Licence nonsense worked out and I should be able to go onto base soon. So, if everyone could please pray for the Personal job and pray for Adam to keep a sound mind while there. :) Thank you everyone for the support, it means so much to us.

and DON'T FORGET TO WRITE ADAM LOL

Airman Graham update :)

Well, its been a crazy week so far, and I thought it was time for an ADAM update.

He called me on Saturday at around 5:15 pm and we got to talk for almost 15 mins!!! I was sooooo freaking happy to hear his voice.

He sounded much much better. He told me that he had bad news because he was told that I was NOT in the Air Force system because he didn't take our Certified Marriage License. Well, the problem was, we didn't ever receive it. When we got married, we paid for one, so I'm thinking, CRAP! lol Anyway, Adam was told that he can only make an appointment to get this whole situation straightened out on Mondays, so even though I get it to him soon, he wont be able to get it figured out till Monday. So, all that to say, on Monday, I booked it to the Courthouse and got another certified marriage license. (Which I found out, we received one but we through it out because it didn't look legit, LOL, it literally looked like a crappy piece of paper, so eh whatever.) I sent it out at like 11:20 am that morning, so he should get it tomorrow, Thursday.

After all of that was out, Adam told me that his TI (Military Technical Insturctor, they are pretty much the rude/mean guys that yell at you constantly at basic) is really actually pretty cool. He says that when they aren't working, the TI is joking around and trying to make it less stressful. Adam says, "don't get me wrong, he yells, a lot, but its all good because thats his job." So, Adam is in a good mind set. Adam also told me that he met a guy named David, he is married and misses his wife too. But David is in a bad situation because his wife is stuck in Mexico, 8 months pregnant, and there is no way he can get ahold of her. Needless to say, Adam feels horrible for the guy, and is thankful that we aren't in a horrible mess like that. So we both feel horrible for them. I'm hoping that there is some way I can help them. Adam also told me that everything is actually going well, all the physical stuff is pretty easy, the only thing he is worried about is dorm inspections. LOL Adam was never really good at folding clothes, he would fold something and I would be right behind him re-folding it! so he says he is working on that as much as he can. He says that there is waaaay too much going on all the time. He says he feels like there isn't enough time in the day to get everything done. On sundays, he hoped he could go to church, but he needed to get all of his stuff done, so he was going to miss it. But thankfully, David and him pray together at night, and read the Bible, Adam says it helps him calm down before sleep because he is so wound up by the time 11pm rolls around. Then there was of course some "mushy-gushy" stuff that we talked about LOL but other than that, that was all we were able to talk about. So please everyone keep praying for him and WRITE HIM LETTERS!!!! he won't be able to write back but he says he needs the encouragement. And he really does, so please please write him. That's it for now, I'll post when I know more. I'm hoping to get a letter from him tomorrow!!!! So YAY!!!!

Just a tid bit of an update

Alright, So I got up this morning and called the Recruiter and he pretty much told me there was nothing that he could do. His best advise was to go to the bank and see if I can get into Adam's new account and see what I can do. So, I get to BofA, and I sit down with some guy that thinks he can help me. They said if I knew the account number that I could easily take the money from Adam's account and just put it into my account....oh if life was so simple. LOL. I, of course, don't know Adam's account number and have no way of getting it until he calls or writes me. So I ask the guy to just check and make sure that the account is in his name and that it is there on file. He types in Adam's social security number and the computer is telling the guy that the only account under his SSN is the account that him and I share. I didn't believe him and told him that he needed to try another way. I gave him the username and password that Adam gave me on Sunday, and nothing happened. This guy then tells me to call the Finance people at Lackland because there is nothing else that he can do. At this point I'm so confused. I don't understand how there is no account, so I decided to go to my mom's house and make sure that this guy didn't make a mistake. Well, the stinkin guy was right! There is no account under the username and the password that Adam gave to me. (PS this account worked on Sunday. So I have no idea what happend.) Anyway, I try to get a hold of the Finance people at Lackland and I have no luck. What the heck?! No one answers there, and I don't know why. I have been trying all day and nothing. So this is what I'm hoping, I'm hoping that Adam was able to cancel that account that he opened and somehow got our direct deposit form and everything is worked out. I can't wait to hear from him, I'm hoping I hear from him soon. But as soon as I hear from him, I'll keep you updated.

OH OH! I forgot to tell you that Adam is in the 324 Squadron, which means he is a Maroon Knight! I think that's really cool. So that is his symbol up there. :)

OOPS!!!! Wrong E-mail!

okay, my email is:

Cassieann884@hotmail.com

Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks Aunt Donna for telling me!

The Not-So-Happy, Wonderful Phone Call

Happy Late Valentines Day Everyone,

Well, yesterday was supposed to be a good day, but ended up being more stressful than I could EVER imagine.

The day started off well, I got up and went to my grandparents, then to my mom's to wish them all a happy valentines day. After seeing them, I headed to Adam's parents house to wait for Shawna to pick me up to go to Steven's parents house for dinner. Shawna and I got there at almost 2pm and sat and talked and hung around. At exactly 3:15pm ADAM CALLS!!!!! I get so excited, I scream and start to cry. Just knowing that I am going to hear is voice is enough to make my heart happy. So, I did as I was told by Adam, and I let it go to the voicemail (that was the hardest thing I have ever done.) About 2 mins later, my phone rings again and it's Adam again, so I figure I better answer it. I answer, and he is in a panic and yelling at me to get a pencil and a pen. But I wasn't in my element, and I was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. All the while, Shawna's boyfriend is calling her at the same time so be are both crying and looking for paper. So finally, after Dawn and Steve (Steven's parents) literally pull us to the office, Adam starts frantically and quickly telling me his new address. I was so scared and shaking I couldn't get the address right, so I gave up and hoped that Shawna got the address because I could tell something was wrong with Adam, and I needed to find out. After telling me his address, which might I add, is like 5 lines long, he tells me that something bad happened. He then begins to tell me that somehow our direct deposit form got lost and I have no money. The AF made him open up a new account at BofA and I need to log on to the account and transfer the money to our joint account when I need to. Seemed simple enough. But bless Adam's amazing heart, he feels absolutely horrible. This was the worst imaginable conversation he could have with me, he literally thought he left me alone with no money. I was so in shock all I could do was cry, his voice has already changed so much. So after telling him everything is going to be okay and that we love each other, we are forced to hang up.

So, then I go to a computer and put in the username and the password into the BofA account and it asks me a security question that I know the answer to. I put the answer in once, twice, and three times and the account blocks me out. The account cannot be unlocked until I can get into his new "gmail" account, which I have no idea what his name or password is. So, I'm at a loss at what to do.

This morning, I call the Recruiter, hoping to get some help and of course he doesn't answer. So, I'm going to keep bugging him until I get some answers.

So, I now have Adam's address, and if everyone can, PLEASE PLEASE write him a letter. He needs as much encouragement that he can get. I know he is definitely worried about me and needs to be told that everything is going to be okay. So, if you want his address, please email me at Cassiean884@hotmail.com or message me on Facebook.

I'll keep everyone posted when I have some answers.

First Offical Day.

Well, it's February 10, 2010, and Adam is in Texas. He arrived in Texas at 7pm our time (AZ) but 8pm Texas time. By the time he got to Lackland Air Force base, it was 9 and was exhausted. Here is why. We arrived at the Shereton Cresent Hotel on Monday the 8th at 7pm and we were both super sad. As soon as we got there, Adam had to go and check in. Thankfully, Adam met an awesome guy named Steven, so they met up and thankfully got a room together. All the while, Steven's family and myself are anxiously waiting to see our boy's. Around 20 mins later, they finally come down and we spent time together until 8pm when they have to go through a briefing. UGH!!! lol all i wanted to do was be with Adam! At around 8:30pm, Adam came back and we talked and cried until I had to leave at 9ish, it was actually supposed to be 10 but Adam needed to take a shower and get ready and be in bed by 10 so he could get a decent night sleep. I finally pulled myself away from him around 9:20pm and drove back to his parents house. Adam woke up at 3 in the morning, unable to sleep. He got ready and left for MEP's at 5am. After a bunch of random tests, Adam swore into Active Duty at 10am and was told that his flight is at 4:45pm, but doesn't know when he will be able to meet his mom and I at the airport to say our final goodbyes. I get a call from Adam around 1pm telling me that it's not going to be possible for his mom and I to see him at the airport because as soon as they get there, they automatically have to go through security and stay with the group. Which meant that we were unable to go past security and he was unable to leave and come see us. Adam, his mom and I were devastated. We felt like we were stripped of each other, and it was horrible. Adam and I text all day, talking about random things, how much we are going to miss each other, how happy we are that he met Steven and I met Shawna (Steven's girlfriend), how we are going to have an amazing life when all of this is said and done...so on and so fourth. Around 4:20pm, Adam calls me and tells me that they are boarding the plane and that he has to turn off his phone, and will try and call me when he lands, hopefully. So around 6:45pm, AZ time, Adam text me saying they land and he will call soon. About 5 mins later, he calls and we say our goodbyes. Thankfully, Adam told me that he is excited and ready for this all to be over and start our life. So looking at it that way, we can both get through. I'm hoping to hear from him this weekend. He told me not to answer the first time he calls so he can leave a message with his address, that way we are 100% sure I will get the address right. Also, since he wasn't able to talk to me, he will be able to call again, and we will actually be able to have a conversation. So yay!! I'm so excited to get this whole journey done so we can be together again. I'm going to post as much as possible, and keep you guys in the loop.
